Meet the Owner and Lead Trainer

Jill Lawson has developed her balanced approach to canine training through participation in professional trainings, seminars, and membership in dog sport clubs. In addition to traditional obedience training, she has specialized experience in the training of working dogs and those with behavioral issues.

Jill has been an animal lover her entire life. She grew up on a farm in a small town west of Indianapolis.

By the age of thirteen, Jill had started training her German Shepherd in basic obedience as part of a local 4-H club, eventually going on to train and compete her Boxers in AKC competition obedience.

She continued to work closely with dogs in a variety of settings including at a veterinary clinic, with Animal Care and Control and at the Humane Society. Through her work, Jill was quickly exposed to the overwhelming number of abandoned and homeless dogs - and the behavioral problems that often caused their surrender.

That is when her passion for canine care and training evolved into the mission of her work for the last two decades:

Jill has dedicated her career to fostering and training countless shelter dogs, leading to their adoption into forever homes. Now, she continues her work by helping families learn to set boundaries and communicate effectively with their dogs to prevent the behavioral problems that often lead to surrender.
